Curiosity: Explore Monselice’s surroundings within the Colli Euganei and discover hidden grottoes and pathways. Here is where nature and history meet, creating enchanting spaces waiting to be explored.

Curiosity: The Refugium Peccatorum holds the legend of a mysterious treasure. It tells of a very poor family with five children, including a little girl. One day, during a prayer, the young girl heard a mysterious voice telling her to decapitate a statue. The girl obeyed, and upon beheading the statue, she found a treasure of gold coins inside, which she promptly handed to her parents, thus turning the family’s fortunes around. Popular belief suggests that the voice belonged to the spirit of one of the deceased buried right under the Cathedral or in the adjacent cemetery.

We stumbled upon this charming spot while exploring the town and couldn’t resist going back three times. It’s that good!
